I don’t get what ‘balmy’ means.

I don’t get what’s good about being ‘pleasantly warm’.

I understand what it is to not to want to freeze

But could I have the step before it

Would that be brisk or chilled?

I don’t want to be warmed up

I’d much rather have the crisp

Of cold air circulating

Lifting

And then sending me to sleep.

There’s nothing pleasant about being warm.

Can I have refreshingly chilly, please.
